What Did You Do Last Weekend?
Did you get the opportunity to ride a zipline over the treetops of Middle Tennessee? Did you have the chance to see if you could score a bull's eye while shooting? If not then you need to come out to Boxwell Reservation for our Boy Scout Day to participate in these activities plus hiking, fishing and much more!
Boy Scouts is a year-round program that teaches character, leadership, wilderness skills, and self-confidence through outdoor adventure and community service. Boy Scouts is open to young men from sixth grade thru age 17.
Who can attend? This event is open to anyone registered or wanting to join with a Boy Scout Troop in the Middle Tennessee Council only.
Can a non-Scout attend? Yes, however in order to take part in the high adventure activities he will need to bring to the event a completed youth application and membership fee.
What is the cost? For all Scouts that wish to attend the cost is $15 per person.
As an incentive to increase membership in your Troop: If a boy already registered as a member of BSA, brings a non-Scout boy to this event, the Middle Tennessee Council will either waive the $15 fee (for walk-ons) or send a refund check to the Troop for fees pre-paid. In this way both the existing Scout and friend can attend for free.
There is no charge for Adult Leadership. Youth cannot attend without Adult Leadership and Adults are expected to assist in supervision of youth participants.
What is the Schedule? Activities start at 9am and conclude at 4pm, with a lunch break from Noon-1pm. Each Scout can choose up to six activities. Due to high demand some activities are limited to 20 Scouts per session and BSA age restrictions will apply. A Scout may choose to take part in 6 different activities or he may want to choose one activity six times. When selecting activities please be sure to choose session times carefully to avoid double booking a Scout.
Is Lunch provided? No, you should plan to provide your own meal for lunch.
