PLANS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS

Dear Middle Tennessee Council Leaders and Families:

This is an important update for Middle Tennessee Council leaders and families. As we indicated in our last communication, we will update you as plans change in this fluid situation. The health and well-being of our Scouts, volunteer leaders, families, and staff continues to remain our number-one priority.

The Middle Tennessee Council is implementing new efforts to help minimize the spread of the Corvid-19 Virus. Please note the changes below.

COUNCIL FACILITIES: The facilities listed below will be closed through April 12. Please note that this date may change based on national and local information related to the virus. We will keep you informed of any changes

  • Middle Tennessee Council Scout Shop
  • Murfreesboro Scout Shop
  • Clarksville Scout Shop
  • Boxwell Scout Reservation
  • Parish Scout Reservation
  • Latimer Scout Reservation
  • Grimes Canoe Base

If you need to pick up or drop off items to the Scout Shop through April 12, please call ahead and schedule an appointment 615-383-9724

Store patrons should place their order with the Scout Shop in advance by e-mailing scoutshop@mtcbsa.org or by phone call at 615-383-0753. Your order will be packaged and shipped directly to you. If you would like to pick up your order at the Council Office, we will place the order in the lock box outside the Scout Shop. Please let us know how you would like to receive your order when you email or call.

We still recommend that “face to face” meetings be postponed through April 12. We will provide an update if this date changes. Please feel free to have conference calls or virtual meetings if feasible.

Camp Card Sales: For the health and well-being of our Scouts, volunteer leaders, and families, the Middle Tennessee Council strongly recommends that all face-to-face, door-to-door, and store front sales be suspended effective immediately. We will closely monitor local conditions to determine when your sales should restart. The new official end date has been extended from April 17th to June 5, 2020.

DISTRICT AND COUNCIL ACTIVITIES

  • Please remember that all district and council events are postponed through April 12, 2020.
  • Summer Camp Merit Badge classes sign-up opens for registered units on March 24th at 10:00am as previously scheduled.
  • Summer Camp Campership requests have been extended to April 15, 2020.
  • All summer activities are a go at this point.

DISTRICT AND COUNCIL MEETINGS

  • As the emphasis is currently on prevention strategies and protecting the overall public health of our communities, ALL council and district meetings have been changed from in-person to conference call and/or video conference call through April 12, 2020.
