Fall 2020 Round Up

This year’s theme will be 100s of Adventures! It is great to have such a strong program that no matter the situation this fall, our interested Scouts will be able to have the problem of “Nothing to do” solved because Scouting has 100s of things to do. A lot of time and thought is going into the contingency plans due to COVID-19. Save the date for your district’s Round Up Kickoff on July 28. This will be when the final plans are confirmed for your area and when you will be able to pick up all marketing materials. Banners, Yard Signs, and Posters will be available for you to market your community. We have great volunteers across our Council and together, despite the challenges, we can deliver on our mission to ensure that every youth in Middle Tennessee has the opportunity to join Scouts.

Fall Induction Weekend

Fall Induction Weekend will be August 14 – 16 at Boxwell Scout Reservation. The event is set to go as initially planned, but with some new health and safety precautions, which you can find on the lodge website. Registration is open at wa-hi-nasa.org/register with plenty of room for candidates as well as staff. If you’re a candidate, please register if you can make it, and if you’re already a member of the Order of the Arrow, we highly encourage you to staff the event and join us in inducting and welcoming our new members, it’ll be a blast.

If you are a candidate and cannot make it to Fall Induction Weekend, great news: we have rescheduled our 2020 Spring Induction to be a Summer Induction on June 30 – July 1. This 24-hour event will be unique and our first lodge event of the year. Given the current public health situation, we have decided to shorten the entire event to minimize risk. The event will also be invite-only, and we will be capping registration to follow the current CDC guidelines. All currently eligible candidates should have received an email with an interest form, but if you are a candidate and have not received said email and would like to attend the event, please email us at induction@wa-hi-nasa.org, and we’ll get it to you. If you are interested in staffing Summer Induction, we will open staff registration soon with more information to come, so please check the lodge website often for that. As with candidates, we will be capping staff registration to keep within the current CDC guidelines.

We will also be offering a Brotherhood opportunity after the event on Wednesday evening for Brotherhood-eligible members; please look to the usual lodge platforms (namely email and social media) for more information. The same limited-number registration applies here, so if you are interested in going through Brotherhood, you will need to register and pay $20 for your sash beforehand. For both Brotherhood and Summer Induction, we will not be allowing walk-ons, as we must follow the CDC health and safety guidelines. The Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge looks forward to welcoming our new brothers, Brotherhood members, and reconvening in person with our current brothers in the coming months, and we encourage you to be a part of that. This year will indeed be a special one, and one the history books will remember, and we are ensuring it will only be for good reasons. We are doing our utmost to keep our community safe during these trying times and hope that in the meantime, you stay too.
