Cub and Family in the Box

With the recent success of the Day Camp in a Box format, we are looking forward to providing a similar alternative to Cub and family this year.  This box will contain activities and games that will be fun to do at home, but we are encouraging that you do it in a group setting on Zoom or any other video conferencing application, and have a great time doing the activities together!  Scouts will be able to both go to Cub and Family Days and order the box to have a Fall full of Scouting fun!

Fall 2020 Round Up

Many families interested in Scouting have never been in Scouts, or it may have been a minute since they were involved.  To help with this, we have prepared a resource called “Cub Scout Parents’ Orientation Guide” that we cover at each round up.  This handy guide will give you an insightful overview of the Cub Scout program, and covers everything from leadership positions to activities to rank advancement and much more.  You can access the guide online by clicking here or pick one up at a school sign up night in your area.

Shooting Sports Days

Shooting Sports are a special opportunity for new Scouts to attend their first district event with their friends and to make new ones! The fun includes safely learning how to shoot a bb gun and archery as well as other activities.

Each district in the Middle Tennessee Council will host their specific event on a Saturday during the months of September and October. Some districts include additional fun events for Scouts to participate in such as games, arts and crafts, Cubmobile races and even camping! For more information, please contact your local pack or visit your district’s website at https://www.mtcbsa.org/Districts.

Scouts of the Year

We are seeking nominations to be considered for “Scout of the Year”. We will select one Cub Scout, one Scouts BSA, one Venturing Youth, one STEM Scout and one Sea Scout/Explorer to represent the council. Each youth must be registered in a pack, troop, crew, ship or post within the Middle Tennessee Council at the time of nomination. Should you wish to nominate more than one Scout, please complete a separate form for each nominee and mail it, fax it or e-mail it by October 9, 2020 to: Send: MTC Marketing Committee c/o Zach Ross – PO Box 150409, 3414 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215 - email: zross@mtcbsa.org or call 865-405-0267.
