Middle Tennessee Council is partnering with the Iroquois Steeplechase to offer any interested Troops and Scouts the opportunity for Community Service, Troop Service Hours, and a Fun Event.

Iroquois Steeplechase has been Nashville’s rite of spring. This annual event combines the grandeur of horse racing with the power and spirit of community. The Iroquois Steeplechase will be held at Percy Warner Park in Nashville on May 9, 2020 . This iconic sporting event is Music City's annual celebration of time-honored traditions, Tennessee hospitality and southern fashions. Guests enjoy areas for families, well-furnished tents and individually organized tailgating.

The Iroquois Steeplechase committee is giving scouts the opportunity to help support this annual event by volunteering their services.

The morning of the race (Saturday, May 5\9) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., they will need group 6 to 8 Scouts and 3 Leaders to support the race officials by closing track crossing during each race and reopening the crossing when each race is completed.

Crews and Troops that support the Iroquois Steeplechase will be provided a parking voucher for the Scouts and their leaders during their day of service.

The morning of the race (Saturday, May 9) from 7:30 to 11 a.m., they will need 5 to 8 Scouts to distribute bags that are already stuffed to the tailgaters at the entrance gate.  This should be over by 11 a.m. at the latest.

Have Scouts at the entrance to General Admission, at parking entrances in the morning, and at boutique and/or information areas to sell the race day programs for $5 each. (This would be cash only sales so Adult Leadership will need to close by to supervise.)

Welcome and direct crowd as they arrive at the Main Gate.

Help serve during the opening ceremonies.  After the last race, scouts will assist in giving out water and direct the crowd as they depart.

Please register for the wonderful opportunity to support this Nashville tradition. Thank you in advance for your help!
